And what a great conference it was! Amazing fringe events, great speeches, good fun with wine, cocktails and real ale but above all a huge sense of high-spirits on the road to victory on May 7th! And that speech from the Prime Minister – sensational.

We had a fine candidate for the ward of Bricknell in Hull, that of Cllr John Fareham, Hull University CF have worked tirelessly in aiding John’s attempt at re-election and we did not disappoint. Along with the help of all his team, he was re-elected with a brilliant majority at the vote count in Hull Guildhall on May 22nd. Congratulations to John and well done to all.
Members of Hull University CF crossed the bridge today in a daring attempt to join members of North East Lincolnshire CF to help out in Cleethorpes, a lot done and a lovely free meal, thank you Mr Vickers!
An action day for Andrew Percy in the lovely village of Fockerby, good day’s work and a spot of refreshment, what more could you ask for?
MP’s Graham Stuart and Andrew Percy, Cllr’s John Abbott and John Fareham, Hull North Conservative Association Chairman Andy Forster and members of CCHQ, the voluntary party and Hull University CF all turned up for a blisteringly hot day this weekend to help re-elect Cllr John Fareham in Hull, to retain our Conservative influence on Hull City Council. We got so much done, were treated to a nice drink and got this lovely group photo!
Local MP Andrew Percy and Hull University graduate Tracey Crouch MP joined Hull Uni CF for our free curry night as part of our Freshers’ Fortnight celebrations. Around 30 of our members were able to meet Andrew and Tracey at the packed out event in Hartley’s Bar on Newland Avenue.
While enjoying complimentary curry and wine, Andrew and Tracey shared stories of their time in Hull, where they met while working part-time at McDonalds as students. Afterwards, Andrew reminded everyone about the importance of supporting Matthew Grove, the Conservative candidate for Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner to ensure that Labour’s John Prescott isn’t allowed to mismanage the police in Hull like he mismanaged the country while Deputy Prime Minister.
We had great fun meeting new people at the Fresher’s Fair this year, we hope our next 2014 stall will be just as successful! Welcome to all our new members from all of the team! Get ready for a packed year!
Matthew Grove, the Conservative candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner in Humberside, gave up his time to talk to Hull Uni CF as part of our Freshers’ Fortnight events. Meeting our members, Matthew spoke about his vision for reducing crime in Humberside and defeating John Prescott.
In a question and answer session, CF members explained their reasons for wanting to keep Prescott away from the police – noting his reputation for wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds of public money and for failing to stick up for our community in the past. Hull Uni CF will be supporting Matthew and his campaign ahead of the election on 15 November – giving members a fantastic opportunity to get involved in what will be the most high-profile of the Police and Crime Commissioner campaigns.
It’s Freshers Week at Hull University and whether you’re just starting or we’re welcoming you back, it’s time to get stuck into Uni life! The award winning Hull University Conservative Future are one of the most active, friendly societies and we’ve got plenty to get involved in over the next week!
